GREEN GHANA
About Green Ghana
H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo established the Green Ghana Day in 2021 as a part of a vigorous national reforestation/afforestation initiative to replace Ghana’s lost forest cover and to aid in the global fight against climate change. On June 11 of 2021, the first edition was held, and an estimated 7 million tree saplings were planted throughout the country.
Geared towards mitigating climate change, inculcating values of planting and nurturing nature, beautifying the environment and many more, the Green Ghana initiative is a move towards preserving nature.
Green Ghana Day 2022 was officially launched at the Accra International Conference Center by H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, President of Ghana. This year’s exercise has the theme of “Mobilizing for a Greener Future.”
